Getting started with Tidio Chat

If you’re a new user ready to take your first steps with our chat app – this is the perfect place to start! You’ll find lots of useful information and tips about setting up your chat widget as well as the operator’s panel – and you will be using Tidio Chat in no time!

Creating an account

First things first: you should set up an account. You can do this on our website at www.tidio.com, by clicking the ‘Try it out‘ or ‘Get started‘ button:

This will take you to the sign-up process – you just need to provide your email address, website URL, and password:

And that’s it! You have now started your account with a lifetime free Basic plan. During this time you have access to all of the features that are necessary to answer incoming conversations with up to 3 users forever free! You can see detailed information about our pricing and current plan options right here: https://www.tidio.com/pricing/

After you sign up, you will be able to choose which feature is the most important for you and which one you’d like to adjust first and foremost: Automation or Live Chat.

If you decide to modify the Live Chat appearance, you’ll be asked to edit the visual aspect of the chat widget, like the color of your chat, along with your name and an avatar that your visitors will see next to the chat status in the chat header, as well as the default language of your widget. You can also edit that later in Widget Settings.

In the next step, you’ll need to enter your website address, country, and industry.

Last, but not least – setting up the widget on your site. You’ll get your unique Javascript code that you can insert into the header file of your website and an option to send an email to your web developer, who can help you out with implementing the chat. Important! You can skip this step if you have integrated the chat via a plugin.

The plugin installation is available when your website is hosted on services such as Shopify, Wix, or WordPress. For further details regarding the installation, please see this article.

That was the last step of the starting tour! Tidio Chat is now up and running – you can now start chatting with your site’s visitors!

Logging into your account

If you have installed Tidio Chat through one of the platforms below, then you may access your chat panel directly from the respective platform’s panel:

If you’d like to log in via our mobile and desktop apps or on www.tidio.com, use the email address that you registered with. Important! If you registered via the plugin, your temporary password is sent to you via email.

If you have installed Tidio Chat on your website using our JavaScript code, then you may log in using the email and password you provided during the installation.
