What you can do with Tidio and Checkout

Rescue the declined payment

When Checkout declines a card, Tidio can open a conversation on the spot, and a buyer who understands why will usually try another method.

Answer what was charged

The Checkout payment, its amount and its status load with the chat, so a question about a pending or duplicated charge is settled in one reply.

Track the refund honestly

Refund status from Checkout reaches the conversation, so a customer is told where the money is instead of being asked to wait and see.

Handle disputes as conversations

A dispute raised in Checkout can start a chat, and the transcript of that chat becomes part of the evidence your team submits.

Overview

Checkout processes the payment, and the shopper whose card was declined is still sitting on your site wondering what happened. Connected to Tidio through Zapier or the Tidio API, the payment, its status and the decline reason reach the conversation, so an agent explains it and the order is saved. Refund status and disputes work the same way, answered from the record instead of a promise to look into it.

Key features

  • Explain the decline with the reason Checkout returned rather than a guess
  • Save the order in the session by talking to the buyer while they are still on the page
  • Answer refund questions with the Checkout payment and its status in the chat
  • Get ahead of disputes by reaching the customer when Checkout flags one

How it works

Connect Checkout in minutes

  1. 1

    Connect Tidio and Checkout

Link them with Zapier or the Tidio API, using Checkout credentials limited to the payment data support is allowed to see.

  2. 2

Choose the events that open a chat

Declines, refunds and disputes in Checkout can each start a conversation or attach their record to one.

  3. 3

Answer payment questions in one place

The payment sits in the conversation, and Checkout stays the system of record for the money.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about the Checkout integration

Does card data reach the chat?

No. Only the fields you map, such as amount, status, decline reason and the last four digits. Checkout keeps the payment data and remains the system of record.

Why talk to a shopper about a decline?

Because most declines are fixable in the moment. If Checkout says the bank refused the card, a short conversation gets the order paid instead of leaving it abandoned.

Is the Checkout integration available on my plan?

Availability depends on the Tidio plan you are on. Compare plans to see which plan covers the Checkout integration.
