What you can do with Tidio and PDK

Answer why a badge failed

The PDK credential and the reader event usually explain it without anyone walking over.

Check a door or reader

Door status tells the desk whether this is one person or a broken reader.

Request visitor access

A contractor's access is captured in chat with dates, then issued in PDK.

Look into an access event

Audit log detail lets the desk escalate a door held open with facts.

Overview

PDK controls the doors: who holds a credential, which access groups it belongs to, and every entry event. The messages that follow are practical. My badge stopped working, I am locked out of the back entrance, a contractor needs access on Thursday. Reading PDK into Tidio lets a facilities desk see the credential and the door event and answer properly. Unlocking a door and issuing credentials stay in PDK.

Key features

  • Credential state in the chat See whether the PDK credential is active and which groups it has.
  • Door events in view A failed attempt at a specific reader explains a lot.
  • Requests captured properly Temporary access is requested with dates and a reason.
  • Unlocking stays in PDK Physical actions need a verified operator, not a chat.

How it works

Connect PDK in minutes

  1. 1

    Connect PDK and Tidio

Zapier, Integrately or Make can pass credential and event data, or a service posts to the Tidio API.

  2. 2

    Keep it read-only

Credential state, group membership and recent events. No door actions from the chat.

  3. 3

    Route actions to PDK

Issuing credentials and unlocking doors happen in PDK, by somebody verified.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about the PDK integration

Should a door ever be unlocked from a chat?

No. Opening a physical door on the strength of a chat message is the clearest example of a bad idea in this whole area, because the attacker's only task is to sound like an employee who is locked out. Capture the request and let a verified operator act in PDK.

What can the desk safely see?

Whether the credential is active, which access groups it has, and the recent events for the person in the conversation. A full audit log across all doors belongs with security, where it is read with the context that makes it meaningful.

Is the PDK integration available on my plan?

Availability depends on the Tidio plan you are on. Compare plans to see which plan covers the PDK integration.
