What you can do with Tidio and TriNet

Answer routine HR questions in chat

How much leave is left, who the manager is, when a benefit starts. The TriNet record answers all three in Tidio without a ticket to HR.

Give new hires one place to ask

When TriNet records a start date, a Tidio conversation opens with the person's team and manager attached, so first week questions get a fast answer.

Point leave requests at the right form

The chat shows the TriNet balance and links to the request, so people stop asking a colleague to guess whether the days are available.

Keep the sensitive parts out of chat

Salary, tax documents and benefit elections are read in TriNet. The chat handles the questions around them and nothing more.

Overview

TriNet runs payroll, benefits and compliance, so its records answer most internal HR questions. If your team asks those questions in Tidio, an agent should not be forwarding email to HR. Connect the two with Zapier, Make or the Tidio API and the employee's TriNet department, manager and time off balance can appear in the conversation. Payroll and benefits changes stay in TriNet, approved and logged there.

Key features

  • Employee record in the panel Department, manager and start date come from TriNet.
  • Time off balances shown Agents answer leave questions from the TriNet balance.
  • Onboarding chats prefilled A new hire in TriNet gets a chat with their details ready.
  • Sensitive fields left out Pay and benefits detail stay in TriNet, not in chat.

How it works

Connect TriNet in minutes

  1. 1

Connect TriNet and Tidio through the Tidio API

The TriNet HR APIs are available to platform customers. A service you host can read them and post the fields you need onto the Tidio conversation.

  2. 2

Match employees on the work email

The work address is the reliable key. Restrict the lookup to signed in employees so a visitor can never trigger an HR record fetch.

  3. 3

    Choose a small field list

Department, manager, start date and leave balance cover most questions. Everything else, especially pay, is read in TriNet by the person it belongs to.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about the TriNet integration

Is it safe to pull HR data into a chat tool?

Only with a short field list and a hard rule that the requester is the employee themselves. Keep pay, tax and benefit elections in TriNet. The point is answering routine questions, not mirroring an HR system into support software.

Can somebody request time off through the chat?

Better to link them to the TriNet request. Leave needs approval and a record, and a chat message is neither. Showing the balance and the link removes most of the friction anyway.

What about contractors not in TriNet?

The lookup returns nothing and the agent handles it manually. Say so in the panel rather than showing an empty record, or agents will assume the connection is broken.

Is the TriNet integration available on my plan?

Availability depends on the Tidio plan you are on. Compare plans to see which plan covers the TriNet integration.
